It has the same notes as the Mixolydian scale, including a chromatic passing tone between the b7 and the Root. If you manage to play a descending C, F, and G Dominant bebop scale, you have completed today's lesson. Level 1-2: Are you ready for more? Try this: Right Hand: Bebop Scales Left Hand: Shell Voicings (1-b7) + Charleston Rhythm Pattern Level 1-3: Is it still way too easy? Then just speed up a little. Test your limits. Level 2 - Intermediate: First, I want you to complete Level 1. Then go, and apply these descending scales over the C Blues Chord Progression. Level 3 - Advanced: RH: Descending Dominant Bebop Scales starting from the Root LH: 3-Note Rootless Voicings with a consistent rhythm pattern (Ahmad Jamal & Red Garland Rhythm) Even if you are an experienced player, don't skip Level 1 & 2 exercises because you might find something useful there too.
